the officials had misled the government over holiday tuition.
"The County Director of
Education for Homa Bay County and the District Education Officer have
been relieved of their duties with immediate effect,” Mr Kilonzo said
during a news conference in Nairobi.

written to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) asking for
administrative action against the Asumbi Primary School head teacher.
He announced the government will prosecute officials found culpable by investigations into the fire incident.
Mr Kilonzo ordered schools to
remove burglar-proof doors in dormitories and academic areas in all
boarding schools around the country.
